Heads and Tails Cricket Club

Who we are

Welcome to Heads and Tails Cricket Club website.

We are a friendly team of all ages and abilities that plays social Cricket in Exeter, East and Mid Devon.  We are based at the recreation ground in Newton St Cyres.  The Club began in the 1980s and was comprised largely of headteachers and teachers.  Games were played at Kings School, Ottery St Mary, organized by Keith Hicks the Headteacher of Ottery St Mary Primary School.  The team moved to Newton St Cyres with Headteacher Rob Wish who played for the Newton Saturday side.  Amalgamation followed with members from Quickes Cricket team.

Today, we have a more diverse player base and we particularly welcome players who are either returning to the game after some years away, or other sportsmen looking to turn their hand to Cricket.

We play to win but, in a fun, supportive, and inclusive environment.  We encourage everyone to contribute either on or off the field.  We believe that the spirit of the game is hugely important, and that everyone at the club should reflect this at all times.

With the agreement of the opposition our evening 20 over games are usually limited to a maximum of 4 overs a bowler and a batting retirement at 25 or 30.  The batter can resume his innings at the fall of the 10th wicket.  This way we keep all of the team involved in the game.
